Background

Tarragon Motel owners Bob & Kim Pelky purchased the Tarragon Motel a few years ago. Bob had grown up in northern Wisconsin and upon retiring from his factory job in Milwaukee he wanted to return to the area. Bob and Kim were not business people but from years of traveling, and knowing what they felt was due a customer, they have built a solid reputation in a short time. A large part of their business is repeat customers.

Knowing what they want in a motel when traveling has led them to continually improve and expand the business. The first major addition was two years ago when the Whirlpool Room was built. This room has proven to be very popular. Weekly business customers asked for a coin laundry and a place to prepare light meals. When the additional rooms were built last year a guest service room was incorporated into the plan. This room has coin washers and dryers, a kitchenette, and a booth for eating meals, or playing games.

The property has a large back yard area which is available for guest use. A swing/play set was added for the kids. There is plenty of open grass to play catch or Frisbee. A large picnic area is fully equipped with a grill, fire pit, tables & chairs, and screen room.

The Tarragon Motel is located on Highway 41 and Flame Road, just as you approach Marinette from the south. Look for us on the south side of the road as you pass Seguin's Cheese & Gifts. If you are coming from Marinette we are just past Tradewinds Supper Club.

In the immediate area there is convenient shopping and eating establishments (we just named two good ones above). Several events and attractions are in the area, and you can learn more about them by going to the organizations listed on our links page

Since Bob & Kim have taken over the motel there has been a change in the way the local motel business is operated. They did not know that you didn't send business to your competitors when you are fully booked. If they couldn't help a person with a room they would call the other area motels to find space for them. At first this attitude surprised the competition, but now it is a standard practice among the local operators. Also the local owners now look after each other, passing the word along, in cases where guests have caused problems.

Bob & Kim's goal is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The satisfaction they get from running a successful business is only surpassed by all of the friends they have made.
